Consilium’s First Kickball Tournament Supports Cancer Research

On November 22, Consilium’s team spirit was on full display during the inaugural Consilium Cares Kick Cancer Kickball Tournament. This event, held in partnership with ZERO Prostate Cancer, brought together over 80 players and numerous spectators for a day of fun, camaraderie, and impact. With eight teams competing for bragging rights and raising funds for Men’s Health and Cancer Awareness Month, the park buzzed with excitement and purpose.

The competition kicked off with teams decked out in creative uniforms that added to the fun. The Excel-erators, representing the OPS team, were crowd favorites in their “punny” Excel-themed shirts, while the Base Bandits from the Logistics team made a statement with their burgundy kickball bandit gear. The action-packed games drew plenty of cheers as teams faced off in tight matchups, showing equal parts strategy and humor.

As the night wore on, the park was electric with energy, especially during the final game between the Base Invaders and Dragon Ball C’s. The showdown kept fans on their toes, with both teams proving themselves worthy of the championship title. In a surprising twist, the game ended in a tie when the park lights went out, leaving the crowd eager for a rematch next year.

Ultimately, the tournament wasn’t just about the competition—it was about coming together for a greater cause. Proceeds from the event went directly to ZERO to support cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, and their families, with an impact of $4,320.

In Their Words: Team Reflections and ZERO’s Gratitude
Courtney Bugler, ZERO’s President and CEO, expressed her appreciation for the event and its impact:

“Thank you for being a caring community member who’s making a difference in the lives of others. Your gift helps to reduce late-stage diagnoses, enhance the quality of life for patients, and save lives by providing much-needed funds for prostate cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, and families this holiday season.”

Participants also reflected on the event’s meaningfulness and the joy of playing a beloved childhood game for such an important cause. A member of the Behavioral Health Division Team, Kick-fil-A, shared:

“Participating in the kickball tournament for Men’s Health and Cancer Awareness was an incredible way to give back while connecting with my amazing team. It’s events like these that truly showcase the heart and dedication of Consilium!”

From the Excel-erators, another teammate reminisced:

“I used to play kickball all the time as a kid! It was enjoyable to dust off those skills again (though I didn’t kick the ball very far at all!). I love that Consilium offers opportunities for us to bond after work all while supporting a great cause.”

Looking Ahead
The 1st Annual Consilium Cares Kick Cancer Kickball Tournament exemplified what Consilium is all about: teamwork, fun, and making a difference. As the teams gear up for next year’s tournament, there’s no doubt the spirit of competition will be matched only by the commitment to supporting vital causes like ZERO’s mission.
