On July 19th, 2024, Consilium employees in Dallas, Texas (DFW) came together for the 2nd annual Consilium Cares fundraising event, “Bowling for Books.” Participants raised $2,200 for Scottish Rite for Children.
The employees’ enthusiasm and friendly competition made the event special. Some teams even sported custom bowling shirts and adopted team names, such as “Don’t Stop Bowl-ieving,” “The Twisters,” “The Turkey Hunters,” and “The Pinheads.”
While a fun time was had by all, the goal was to raise money to supply books and resources for the patients at Scottish Rite for Children, a pediatric orthopedic hospital in Dallas. Around 60 employees and their families (almost twice the number of last year’s participants!) bowled at Round1 Bowling & Arcade in Grapevine, Texas.
The Christi Carter Urschel Family Resource Center (FRC) at Scottish Rite
Consilium’s donation went toward the book wish list for The Christi Carter Urschel Family Resource Center (FRC), an important part of Scottish Rite for Children. The FRC’s mission is to provide health information and resources to patients and families.
The FRC library and Scottish Rite for Children were extremely appreciative of Consilium’s efforts.
Michael Stimpson, Development Officer at Scottish Rite for Children, smiled and said, “We are very thankful to the Consilium Cares family and feel so fortunate that our patients and families benefit from the good work you all do.”
In keeping with the Cares Servant Spirit, Consilium employees were more than happy to help. One Consilium employee commented, “I loved participating in Bowling for Books, because it was an opportunity for me and my colleagues to bond as well as to make a difference. It felt so rewarding knowing that the librarians at Scottish Rite for Children will receive all the books on their wish lists! It was a fun time with fun people and an amazing fundraiser.”
Another employee added, “Bowling for Books is my favorite Consilium Cares fundraising event. Our donations provide much-needed resources to children and their families and make a positive impact and difference in their lives.”
Consilium Cares is the philanthropic service-oriented initiative at Consilium Staffing that hosts 15+ volunteer events a year with the mission of giving back to the community. Employees donate time and resources to different organizations in Dallas and Ft. Worth, Texas.
