In the United States, approximately one million physicians are responsible for addressing the health and wellness needs of more than 331 million people. When you do the math, it’s easy to see just how dedicated these providers have to be to keep up with the demand for their expertise. Mix in the threat from the COVID-19 pandemic, the physician shortage, and emotional burnout, and there’s no doubt that physicians are some of the hardest-working professionals on the planet.
In honor of National Physicians Day, we lift up physicians in celebration and gratitude today and everyday.
Pushing Past the Pandemic
As a nation, individuals continue to do their part to combat the pandemic by following the guidance given by trusted medical authorities, many of whom are physicians. Our collective actions are leading to victorious strides, such as declining infections and hospitalizations in many areas across the globe.
We thank physicians for teaching us the best ways to combat the pandemic.
Frontlines of Vaccine Rollout
As the vaccine rollout continues, doctors, nurses, and staff members are on the front lines, working long, exhaustive shifts to get shots into arms. Every day, about 2.68 million vaccines are being administered in facilities and hubs around the nation. As of March 27, 91.7 million Americans have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. We owe this progress to the scientists and researchers who develop and test the vaccines, and the providers and volunteers who make sure they get to the people who need them.
We thank physicians for protecting us from infection.
Working at the Border
The ongoing U.S.-Mexico border crisis has been exacerbated by the pandemic. At camps and facilities all along the border, physicians are assisting detainee families with their ongoing health issues and pandemic-related infections. With fewer resources and supplies, medical professionals are risking exposure to their own health to assist others.
We thank physicians for helping us address the humanitarian needs here at home and in other countries.
A Better Tomorrow
The crisis facing our nation today will be mitigated tomorrow because of the exhaustive efforts of physicians and medical professionals. As we continue to fight the pandemic, we’ll forever remember the selfless dedication of those who’ve healed the sick and worked so hard to push the nation forward. National Physicians Week reminds us every day of all the ways that physicians keep us healthy as individuals and as a nation.
From all of us at Consilium Staffing, thank you physicians for your service.
