Staffing Gaps Put Patient Care at Risk
Nevada Urban Indians, Inc. (NUI) faced several challenges when looking for a nurse practitioner.
Without an in-house recruiting team, the clinic didn’t know where to start looking for providers. Additionally, government policy changes, funding holds, and standard credentialing requirements further complicated the search.
These challenges made it increasingly difficult to maintain consistent access to primary care for the communities they serve. Unsure of what the future would bring, NUI turned to locum tenens to restore access to care.
12 Months of Coverage and Long-Term Consulting
When Nevada Urban Indians, Inc. asked for help, Consilium quickly stepped in to meet their need. A team of primary care specialists familiar with Nevada’s state regulations began the search for a qualified nurse practitioner.
Soon after, they found a Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner (FMNP) to accept a 12-month contract. Working four days weekly, this FMNP provided continuity of care for patients and stability for the clinic.
Beyond staffing, Consilium actively consults NUI as the need arises. When planning long-term staffing, our locum agency offers them insights. As experts in government work, Consilium stays at the forefront of industry news and strategies to maintain care amid policy changes.
Thanks to Consilium, Nevada Urban Indians, Inc. not only secured care for their patients but also built a years-long partnership they can trust.
