At Consilium, it’s our corporate mission to consistently and intentionally focus on others, always finding ways to help people when they need it most. It’s written into our company values, and we take our values to heart.
That’s why in June of 2024, when we learned that as many as one in five Texas households struggle to meet their families’ basic needs (like the need for clothing), we decided to do something to help.
Consilium Cares held their first clothing drive in partnership with The Salvation Army of North Texas – and we collected and donated a total of 60 bags of gently-used items. Items ranged from shoes and coats to suits, pants, pajamas, tops, and accessories.
Compassion wins, every time
Helping the community is top priority at Consilium, and we do so with great compassion. The chance to collect clothing that will not only help people get back on their feet but also help The Salvation Army fund their life-changing programs was a cause that Consilium wanted to support 100%. Employees were excited, and the response was amazing.
Once the clothing drive began, Consilium staffers immediately got to work — enthusiastically opening their hearts, and their closets, in big ways. And day by day, bags of clothing arrived as employees gave generously. The piles became so large, Consilium designated an entire corner of the staff kitchen and named it the “Cares Corner.”
And at the end of the month, the Consilium Cares “servant spirit” was on display, as The Salvation Army of North Texas loaded 60 bags of clothing donations into their truck.
After the truck drove away, the joy of giving still remained in the hearts of our staff.
One employee said, “Through our Consilium Cares program’s support of The Salvation Army, I had the opportunity to donate work clothing in hopes they will reach women who are in need for outfits to wear to the office or for interviewing purposes.”
Another said, “Having an opportunity to help folks that need clothing makes me feel good. I have nice clothes that no longer fit, so being able to donate for someone to feel more comfortable, more confident, etc. at work or job interviews, for example, is a great way to help. It also gives me a lot more closet space! It is a win-win and something I would like to do more often.”
Consilium and The Salvation Army: a great partnership in giving
Consilium is a purpose-driven company that shows concern for others in our community – and we donate volunteer hours each year in Consilium Cares initiatives. Partnering with The Salvation Army of North Texas, who is dedicated to “doing the most good for North Texans in need,” just makes sense.
This time, our donations went to help those with limited funds the chance to buy affordable items to wear, and also went to help fund impactful, community-centric Salvation Army programs.
A final “thank you” to our employees for exemplifying the spirit of Consilium Cares
Our employees donate time and resources to a number of different organizations, including the following: Carter BloodCare, Children’s Health, Vogel Alcove, Metrocrest Services, DFW Humane Society, Irving Police & Fire, Veterans Healthcare System of the Ozarks, Salvation Army, SOS (Support our Soldiers), Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Zerocancer.org, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, Cook Children’s Medical Center, Equest, and Trinity River Audubon.
Thank you, Consilium employees, for showing such generosity, heart, and spirit!
