At Consilium, our values inspire us to consistently and intentionally focus on others, always finding ways to help when people need it most. Consilium Cares is our philanthropic service-oriented initiative that dedicates time and resources to support the community in areas such as homelessness, cancer research, Veteran support, food insecurity, animal welfare, the environment, and more.
In June of 2024, Consilium employees came together and enthusiastically donated 45 pints of blood. It was an effort to serve others and give back to the community. People overcame their hesitations and showed up in a big way. We even had 11 first-time donors who put “helping others” above any apprehension they may have had. (Way to go!) We had a great time doing it, and we look forward to beating our record again next year.

For more than 70 years, Carter BloodCare has saved lives across Texas by facilitating lifesaving blood transfusion resources to more than 200 medical facilities in over 50 counties. Each year, Carter BloodCare provides more than 440,000 units of blood and blood components to meet patients’ critical needs. From collection, processing, lab testing, and storage, to distribution, Carter BloodCare operates as one of the largest community blood centers in Texas.
Consilium was so happy to be able to contribute 45 total pints of blood to help Carter BloodCare in the important work they do to help save lives.
Carter BloodCare made donating easy
According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood. Whether blood is used to treat traumatic injuries, surgeries, cancer treatment, or chronic illnesses, and more — every blood donation is critical.
After donating, free snacks and beverages were enjoyed by all. Plus, three days after the donation, each volunteer was able to log into Carter BloodCare to track their mini-physical results, check their cholesterol and blood type, and redeem Dedicated Donor Rewards points.
A Carter BloodCare consultant warmly expressed, “We appreciate all Consilium did to help us maintain a stable blood supply in Texas! The goal (of 25 pints) was exceeded, and we congratulate Consilium employees on doing such a great job. We are so very grateful for their partnership!”
Also, a Consilium employee added, “To me, giving blood is a chance to save someone’s life. I cannot think of an easier thing to do that could have more of an upside. I was so happy to help contribute to saving lives in Texas.”
Consilium filled 11 more appointments than in 2023. From whole blood and double red donations to plasma donations, the drive helped Carter BloodCare’s efforts toward maintaining a stable blood supply. The lifesaving gesture by Consilium donors will help patients undergoing surgery and various types of treatment.
Here are the June blood drive statistics:
- 45 total pints of blood collected
- About 135 lives saved
- 11 first-time donors (Way to go!)
- 20 pints OVER our original goal of 25 pints
