A Morning of Service and Impact
On February 15, eight Consilium team members arrived at Metrocrest Services Food Pantry in Carrollton, Texas, ready to lend a helping hand. The pantry serves residents across Dallas-area communities, including Farmers Branch, Coppell, Addison, Irving, and Carrollton.
Throughout the shift, Consilium volunteers stocked shelves, filled bins with fresh produce, organized freezers, and assisted clients as they selected groceries for the week. The impact of their efforts was significant—helping 157 families and distributing an astounding 11,790 pounds of food in a single day.
As Metrocrest Volunteer Coordinator noted:
“The Consilium group helped support 157 families and distribute 11,790 pounds of food on Saturday, which is 2,000 pounds heavier than a monster truck! Thank you as always for volunteering with us and helping us to support the community.”
More Than Just a Food Pantry
Metrocrest Services provides comprehensive support beyond food assistance, offering programs in housing stability, financial coaching, employment readiness, and senior services. Their mission aligns closely with Consilium’s core value of servant spirit, making them a natural partner for our company’s philanthropic efforts.
Through both volunteerism and food drives, Consilium Cares is proud to support Metrocrest and its ongoing mission to combat hunger and poverty in our surrounding communities.
The Heart of Giving Back
For the Consilium volunteers, this experience was more than just a morning of service—it was a reminder of the importance of compassion, connection, and community. Team members shared their reflections:
“Helping at Metrocrest has really humbled me in making sure I stay grounded in what is valuable and necessary for every human being. Health, connection, and love… all things I got to experience while volunteering this shift.”
“Volunteering at Metrocrest Pantry gives me a sense of purpose through helping fight hunger and poverty in my community.”
Continuing the Mission
Consilium remains committed to going beyond healthcare staffing by also being rooted in DFW philanthropy and supporting organizations like Metrocrest Services, whose work makes a tangible impact on the lives of families in need.
