At Consilium, we believe in making a difference—not only in the healthcare industry through locum tenens staffing but also in our local communities. As part of our commitment to giving back, Consilium Cares, our philanthropic initiative, recently hosted a company-wide fundraising event to support The One Love Foundation, an organization dedicated to educating people about healthy relationships and preventing relationship abuse.
Spreading Love and Awareness
Throughout February, Consilium employees participated in the Consilium Cares Candygram Fundraiser, an initiative designed to bring positivity to the workplace while raising funds for an important cause. Team members had the opportunity to send personalized Candygrams—complete with heartfelt messages and sweet treats—to colleagues for a small donation. All proceeds went directly to The One Love Foundation to support their mission of providing life-saving education on relationship abuse.
The response was overwhelming. More than 1,000 Candygrams were sent, spreading kindness across the company while raising over $3,000—more than double the original goal.
A Meaningful Tribute
This year’s fundraiser held particular significance, as the donation was made in memory of Caitlin Rogers, a young woman from our community whose life was tragically cut short due to relationship violence. Her family expressed their gratitude for the support, stating:
“We are blown over that Consilium raised $3,000 for One Love! Thank you so much for such a thoughtful and impactful tribute to Caitlin. Your helping others in her honor means more to us than you know.” — The Rogers Family
Consilium’s efforts were also recognized by One Love Foundation CEO, Julie Myers, who shared:
“Thank you for leading the way and for selling so many candygrams! Every donation helps, and you’ve helped to raise awareness of One Love and relationship abuse and violence as well. Both are so critically important and appreciated.”
The Power of Workplace Giving
Beyond the funds raised, this initiative fostered a culture of encouragement and support within our own organization. Employees shared their enthusiasm for the event:
“I love that I can send a special message and candy to my co-workers and raise money at the same time for an important cause.”
“The Candygram fundraiser was one of my favorites because it allowed everyone at Consilium to send uplifting notes to their peers, bringing positivity to our company! I also appreciated the fundraiser side because it helped those in need of leaving toxic environments or recognizing unhealthy relationships. I’m sure it touched many lives.”
Why This Cause Matters
Statistics show that 1 in 3 people will experience relationship abuse in their lifetime (OneLove.org). The One Love Foundation was created in honor of Yeardley Love, a college student whose life was taken by a former boyfriend. The foundation works tirelessly to provide educational workshops and online resources to help individuals recognize the signs of unhealthy relationships and prevent future tragedies.
