On June 17, 2025, we held our 12th annual Blood Drive in partnership with Carter BloodCare, and the results were nothing short of extraordinary.
Over six hours, team members demonstrated their commitment to saving lives by donating blood through two Carter donation buses, contributing to an organization that serves over 200 hospitals and medical facilities in more than 50 Texas counties.
Record-Breaking Results
Since 2013, Consilium Cares has consistently set and achieved higher goals for our annual blood drive, and this year was no exception. This year’s drive shattered multiple records:
- Appointments: 55 donors participated
- New donors: 28 first-time donors joined the lifesaving mission
- Pints donated: 56 pints total were collected
- Lives potentially saved: Approximately 168 lives
Carter BloodCare expressed their gratitude as follows: “Thank you for your continued commitment to saving lives. The goal was to collect 40 pints and you exceeded that!”
Making a Real Difference
Every pint donated contributes to the 440,000 blood products that Carter BloodCare distributes annually to millions of patients across Texas.
From seasoned donors with long donation histories to nervous first-timers, each team member understood the importance of their contribution and showed up ready to give a part of themselves to help those in need.
Personal Stories of Giving
The drive’s success was fueled by team members who brought deeply personal motivations to their participation:
“I started giving blood at a young age. It was instilled in me by my mom that this was a way to give back and save lives,” shared one donor.
Another team member recounted a particularly meaningful donation experience: “I remember once when my mom let me know that a member of one of her colleague’s family had a rare disease and they could not produce white blood cells.
When I discovered I was a match, it felt good knowing that I could make a difference in their life. So I encourage anyone who can to help to please give blood, and you even get snacks afterwards!”
The spirit of immediate action and compassion was evident throughout the day: “I chose to participate in the blood drive because if I have the chance to take a little time out of my day to potentially save a life, I will do it in a heartbeat!”
For many, the drive represented the best of what Consilium Cares stands for:

With 28 new donors joining the cause, we have expanded our circle of lifesavers, potentially creating long-term donors who will continue making a difference beyond this single event.
